This is just another way that you can keep up with what's up at the WRC! The mission of the Boston University Women’s Resource Center is to be a safe space that promotes and supports women while providing a warm and welcoming environment to all who are interested in the advancement and well-being of women at BU. The WRC encourages awareness and fosters activism by offering resources, information and programming concerning women’s issues, gender, sexuality and sexual orientation. The center aims to empower students and expand their horizons in a non-discriminatory setting that encourages discourse and a diversity of opinion. The center serves as a resource for other student groups and is completely volunteer run, thus assisting in the creation of a supportive community of students for students. By striving to provide for social, political, physical, emotional, intellectual and inquisitive needs, the center is a community-building facilitator of passions that enables women at BU to be safe, healthy and happy.

“The media is the message and the messenger!” Miss Representation is a documentary that “explores women’s under-representation in positions of power and influence and challenges the limited and often disparaging portrayals of women in media.”

Keep your eyes open for a possible free screening of the film at the Women’s Resource Center before the end of the semester!

Sick of Sarah are a badass band from Minneapolis who are making noise with the success of their second album, 2205. They’re currently touring and you can catch them at TT the Bear’s Place in Cambridge this Thursday night!

Above, enjoy the video for “Bittersweet,” the SoS song that first caught my ear from their self-titled debut. Also, check out their website at sickofsarah.com for funny vids from the road. Also, they’re all way hot.

Since we all came from a woman, got our name from a woman and our game from a woman - I wonder why we take from our women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women? I think it’s time to kill for our women, time to heal our women, be real to our women. And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies that will hate the ladies that make the babies. And since a man can’t make one, he has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one.

“ The word feminism needs to be taken back. It needs to be reclaimed in a way that is inclusive of men. Men need to understand, and women too, what feminism is really about. And it is not the parody that it has been diminished and turned into, and it is not this parody about whether you burn your bra or shave your armpits or whatever. That’s just nonsense. Actually it’s a red herring. It’s really disgraceful that it has become the kind of dumbing down of something that has to do with human rights, social and political values – and where we’re going as a world that is dominated by war and strife. And young women being born still have no rights over what is done to their bodies.

“ People call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that distinguish me from a doormat.
